Ikeda Sensei's Five Eternal Guidelines: <Soka Gakkai's Five Eternal Guidelines>

Ikeda Sensei's Five Eternal Guidelines: The Soka Gakkai's Five Eternal Guidelines are as follows:

1. Faith in family harmony

2. Faith to Grasp Happiness

3. Faith to overcome difficulties

4. Faith for health and longevity

5. Faith in absolute victory

Health is something you need to manage and create yourself

Health is something that you need to manage and create yourself. Because the cycle of birth, aging, sickness and death is inevitable, it is important to be conscious of your own sleep, diet and exercise and put them into practice.
When I turned 62, I weighed 88kg and was completely metabolically obese. Rather than being at risk of developing diabetes, I had avoided being diagnosed. I was wheezing when climbing stairs, and my physical strength was naturally declining.
I thought I was still 62, but in society, anyone over 60 was considered to be quite elderly.

This is no good! I decided, and started personal muscle training.

This wasn't good enough! I decided to start personal muscle training. I attended a three-month course once a week. By learning about diet, I was able to lose some weight efficiently without getting injured, and my body shape, especially my back, seemed to have changed after the before and after photos. Encouraged by this, I took another three-month course, and I was transformed into a completely different person than I was six months ago!

Started training in Kyokushin Karate (direct striking martial arts karate) at the age of 62

Encouraged by this, I decided that I might be able to do Kyokushin Kaikan Karate (a direct striking martial arts karate), and with a pounding heart, I called the Kyokushin Kaikan Koga Headquarters Dojo! It was a courageous challenge! Today marks five years and five months since I started training. On the 21st of this month, I will be taking the promotion exam! By the way, this will make me a brown belt! It will also be a big responsibility!

Life is a great challenge! You have to decide when you want to live the chance you want! If you think it will come someday, it may never come.

It's always "now!" and I think this is proof that I'm alive!
