Soka Buddhist Altar Store Manager Live #49: Is there any merit in purchasing a Soka Buddhist altar? I received encouragement from a senior based on his own experience

If there is a mismatch between teacher and student, nothing can be accomplished.
If you have good disciples, you will both attain Buddhahood, but if you have bad disciples, you will both go to hell. If the relationship between master and disciple is different, nothing can be accomplished. (p. 1210: The Gosho of Flowering Flowers) The faith of Soka Gakkai is "master and disciple." This is an important part of the Gosho that says that the most important thing is to accept the faith of the Daishonin and Ikeda Sensei without even a little deviation from his guidance.
These are all Soka comrades who lead busy days, working tirelessly every day with morning and evening devotions and chants, the Seikyo Shimbun and Daibyakurenge, their jobs, and organizational activities.
We are ordinary people, so we often interpret faith in a way that is convenient for us and that is far from the fundamental relationship between mentor and disciple. I myself have thought that faith between mentor and disciple is an important point and have been practicing it, but
When I heard the stories and examples from a respected senior believer in faith, I honestly realized that I had been making quite arbitrary assumptions.
I wonder how President Ikeda would be praying!
How would I have prayed if I had been President Ikeda? I have been receiving daily prayer guidance from President Ikeda for over 20 years, but how would I have acted on this?
Of course, I think the most important thing is to read Ikeda Sensei's "The New Human Revolution" carefully, read it aloud, and study it on your own, but if possible, I also think it is very important to read it thoroughly yourself, and then read it together with someone important to you and discuss your impressions of it, as this will create communication about how to understand faith and the sense of master and disciple.
For over 30 years, I have had a respected senior in faith.
For over 30 years, I have had a great senior in faith whom I have respected.
During my interactions with this person over the past week, he expressed his concerns about me from the perspective of my "faith as mentor and disciple."
The senior spoke through case studies and his own actual actions.
He spoke in a detailed and polite manner, using his senior's own words, about the fundamental aspects of the relationship between teacher and student, which must never be compromised.
He explained the differences in my understanding through the Gosho, through Human Revolution, and through the real story of when my senior and I fought together. I have never met anyone who has spoken so deeply about the core of the mentor-disciple relationship and the importance of mentor-disciple faith. I believe that he was able to tell me all this because he truly cares about me and cares about me.
In this live performance, I will be featuring a senior colleague's story from 31 years ago.
For today's YouTube Live, we decided to broadcast live the actual scene of the emotional situation that occurred after we received a call from someone who was worried about us right up until the last minute.
In the previous message I received,
"Is there any merit in purchasing a Soka Buddhist altar?" A senior colleague should use their real name and clearly and surely post this on their blog to the world, and make it clear to the world that "selling Soka Buddhist altars is your mission."
I don't think your goal is just to sell the altar!
This is the altar where we enshrine our precious principal image.
"You are doing this job with the hope that those who purchase Soka Buddhist altars will chant the daimoku to the Gohonzon in earnest and live their lives in absolute victory! Don't you have a mission to convey this to members all over the world?"
I became convinced that the greatest encouragement would be to give as much encouragement as possible to the person in front of me and to create an opportunity for human revolution through the inspiration of faith.
On August 31, 2024, the door to my teachings opened thanks to the encouragement from my respected senior! I am overjoyed by everything! I am deeply moved by everything, and I will continue to live my life of spreading the teachings of the Buddha with all my heart and gratitude!
Experience report: Purchasing a Soka Buddhist altar brings merit
"Working at a Buddhist altar shop is your mission. Do your best and be proud of it."
I remember talking to Shima in August 1993 when we were having trouble finding our current home.
When I told you that I was having trouble finding a site for a two-family home , you said, "Once we find a place to enshrine the Gohonzon, maybe we can decide?" and told me about the experiences of many people.
So I ordered you to make one for the first floor and one for the second floor .
Even though I don't have a home, I sent you enough money to buy two Buddhist altars.
So when I came back from my business trip to Hokkaido, I had already decided on the land for my current house.
At that time, just after the bubble economy, the average price for land was 1.7 million yen per tsubo, but I was contacted to learn that there was a property for a development project that had already been sold long ago, but the contract holder had given up his rights because he was unable to pay the settlement fee after the bubble burst.
The price per tsubo was 1.1 million yen, so I paid on the same day. Thanks to Shima-kun's advice and the deity, I was able to acquire the land for 50 tsubo, 30 million yen cheaper, and the construction cost for two-family homes also dropped due to the end of the bubble period.
This is the place where the Gohonzon, which is more precious than life, rests on the edge of the seat.
There's no way it's not a meritorious one.
This is my personal experience.
Please tell us proudly.
I don't mind mentioning real names, because this story is true no matter what anyone tries to say!
I have been observing the people known as islands for over 30 years.
Please support his honest faith.
